Alstonefield
cottage has recently been updated to provide all the
comforts of modern living without detracting from the charm and natural features
of the original building. There is full gas central heating with an open coal
fire in the oak beamed living room. The window seat in the living room overlooks
the private and secluded, south facing garden at the back of the cottage with
it’s wildlife pond and outdoor patio – wonderful in the summer
for sheltered ‘al fresco’ dining, (outdoor furniture provided).
Also in the living area is a flat screen TV plus DVD player, comfortable seating,
reading lights and a dining table.

The kitchen is modern and well equipped with an electric cooker, fridge-freezer, washing machine and microwave oven together with a small dining table and chairs. A small welcome basket of food basics will be there on your arrival – eg. bread, milk and eggs from the new farm shop attached to the pub, but it is probably useful to note that there is no other shop in the village, the nearest one being about 2 miles away.

Beyond
the kitchen is a cloakroom area and the newly decorated bathroom which has
a white suite with a bath plus a shower over it.
From the living room a pine staircase leads up to the spacious and comfortable
double bedroom which is decorated in warm, neutral colours.

All bedlinen and towels are provided and all heating and lighting costs are included in the rental price.
There is ample safe parking immediately outside the cottage on the lane, which leads only to the church and is a no through road, making it a very quiet and peaceful location.
Unfortunately we do not allow smoking or pets in the cottage.
Bookings are made from Saturday to Saturday although shorter breaks (minimum 3 nights) are available on request. Access to the property is after 3 pm on the day of arrival and we would request departure by 10.30 am on the date of leaving.
